We are Jorge & Leah, a married couple living in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
We chose to live in Colorado because we love the tall mountains and the wide variety of outdoor activities year round.
We value quality time together as we continue to explore more of the state and want to help you make the most of your Colorado vacation whether it's for adventure, family time, or relaxing getaway!
Jorge & Leah met while living in Arizona in 2020. Jorge relocated to Golden, CO in November of 2021.
We spent many late date nights on Zoom, hours at the airport, and navigated a handful of long drives back and forth between Arizona and Colorado independently and as a couple.
We moved to Colorado Springs shortly before we got married in January 2023. We have been researching and exploring all there is to do here for couples and families as we look forward to our friends and family visiting us.
Jorge’s inspiration for starting the blog in mid-2022 stemmed from his real estate and vacation rental property management background. Jorge has firsthand expertise on what makes a vacation rental property stand out and gives guests the experience they are looking for.
Leah’s background in social services and education inspires her to get out in nature to rejuvenate herself and the blog brings out creativity and feeds her desire to help others experience the same.
Jorge is a Texas native and traveled a lot while in the Navy living on both Coasts (Washington state & Connecticut) and then the submarine life. Jorge made Phoenix, Arizona home after the Navy. After 15 years in the hot desert of Arizona, Jorge wanted to experience the seasons again.
When he mentioned Colorado to Leah, although she didn’t want him to go, her initial reaction was “I really like Colorado.” Both Jorge & Leah had separately visited Colorado in 2020 before we met and had the desire to return.
Leah grew up in the Midwest (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota) and has been coming to Colorado now and then since she was a teenager. In 2016, Leah did a cross-country road trip from the Midwest to the West Coast (Washington, Oregon, and California to LA and then to Phoenix, Arizona, and back. She stayed with a friend in Denver both ways.
Leah relocated to Phoenix the year following because she needed a change of scenery from the cold Midwest winters and was ready to take on some desert heat. While Phoenix is a 180-degree difference from the Midwest and Leah loved living there, Leah finds that Colorado is a good balance of experiencing seasons, but the desert climate is not as cold as her childhood memories. Colorado has been a perfect fit.
We chose Colorado Springs because of its size and location. We both felt the need to get out of traffic in the bigger cities and closer to the mountains. We value the opportunities and options in bigger cities but love the simplicity that follows slowing down.
We love escaping the city to spend time in nature and appreciate the charm of small mountain towns.
We look forward to helping you plan your Colorado mountain getaway. The location you stay in can really impact your overall experience. We want to streamline your options to find the best fit for your needs so you can spend more quality time doing what you came here for!
